This fellowship program is founded by Japanese Pediatric Orthopaedic Association (JPOA) to support young candidates who have interests in the Pediatric Orthopaedics from any developing countries. During a one week stay in Japan, the candidates will visit JPOA affiliation institutions and attend the JPOA annual meeting. They will be required to make a presentation at the meeting and to submit a short paper prior to the JPOA annual meeting. JPOA and founders hope that this fellowship will provide an opportunity to the candidates to broaden their experience, and prepare them for educational and leadership roles in the pediatric orthopaedic field.
Eligibility
An applicant must be an orthopaedic surgeon and under the age of 40 years old by the Deadline April 10, 2025

JPOA will support the airfare between each country and Japan, and the local accommodation fee. But the applicants must pay the incidental costs such as the fee for the spouse.
The JPOA International Committee has approved the policy stating “We have set an upper limit to the price of an economy class air ticket, depending on the flight distance.”

Successful applicants should attend the 36th Annual Meeting of JPOA that will be held at Yokohama, during Novemebr28th-29th, 2025 and make a presentation (poster or oral) on their study in the meeting. JPOA will arrange one or more affiliation institutions or hospitals for the successful applicants to stay in Japan for around a week.
Selection
The selection will be made based on the applicant’s CV and quality of the submitted abstract on their study. By the end of May, 2025, applicants will be noticed about the selection result.
The JPOA International Committee considers the application as the agreement of participation to this fellowship. If the selected person cancels this fellowship without any warrant less than 3 months before the annual meeting, the person and any other applicants from the same country will lose any chances to apply to this fellowship for 3 years.
